About Ron

Hello, I am Ron and that is me with the two most important things in my world (they are a bit bigger than that now). I love my job and all the opportunities and experiences I have been afforded as a photographer, but nothing compares to the joy those guys bring.  I spent about 15 years working as a staff photographer at newspapers. The longest time was at the New York Daily News where I was on staff for more than 10 years.  In that time I had some pretty amazing experiences. I covered almost everything you can imagine a newspaper photographer would shoot.  From natural disasters, terrorist attacks and a coup d'etat to Presidential campaigns, Superbowls, the World Series and the Olympics, I was fortunate to witness and document a lot of history.

I began photographing weddings in 2006 the way most photojournalists do, when a friend asked me to shoot his wedding.  After putting up some resistance, thinking he would be better off hiring a "wedding photographer", I agreed, and, to my surprise, I was hooked.  Photographing weddings is everything I love about photography.  I find documenting one of the most important days in someones life, packed with emotion and joy and moments people want to cherish forever; to be exciting, challenging, fun and fulfilling.  As a photojournalist, my photos would be seen by millions of people and then stacked with the recycling the next day.  As a wedding photographer my photos are viewed by a small handful of people and then cherished for a lifetime and passed down to their children.  I chose the latter.  I left the newspaper in 2013 to start the next chapter in my photographic life, concentrating on editorial, commercial and wedding photography. And of course those two rug rats over there.
